Vehicles in German Town Discovered Marked with Nazi Symbols in Human Blood, Law Enforcement Confirm

Officers reported they were alerted by a man who discovered a automobile in Hanau marked with red-colored substance

Approximately 50 automobiles have been marked with what appears to be human blood in the Germany's city of Hanau close to Frankfurt, as reported by authorities.

Vehicles, walls and postboxes were defaced, sometimes with Nazi symbols, they reported in a official communication.

Officers say they were contacted during the night on Wednesday, when a resident noticed that a vehicle in the Lamboy district of Hanau had been smeared with a red-colored substance.

The substance had been placed in the pattern of a Nazi symbol, they added.

Police then found multiple other vandalized vehicles and building exteriors in the nearby vicinity.

These symbols are illegal in Germany under regulations banning the public display of Nazi symbols.

Police state initial examinations indicate the fluid was likely blood from a person.

"Currently there is no indication as to its origin; officials are not yet cognizant of any harm in association with the occurrence," they commented.

Local authorities said they were working "to solve the incident" and have asked to the residents for information.

An important political figure said the vandalism made him stunned and required to be solved rapidly.

"This incident affects the core of Hanau and reawakens the wounds of the extremist violent incident in 2020," he wrote on online, recalling the killing of nine people by a assailant aiming at individuals of migrant background in February 2020.
